… my church

…it’s not really my church to be honest. But it is beautiful, tiny and sweet and I love it! Every weekend when I used to drive from Munich to Wörthersee, the church became the symbol of being almost at home. Turning east at the Knoten Villach junction towards Klagenfurt and Vienna and just a couple of kilometres further the church always welcomed me home by being brightly lit on top of the 733 m high mountain on my left hand side.  It always gave the impression that it is watching over the valley and Wörthersee. The Sternberg Church goes back as far as the Romans.  The church is built in Gothic style around the 15th century, but still parts from the Romans from 13th century are very well kept.

There is also a small graveyard in-front and at the back of the church and it looks very peaceful, the last resort, on top of a hill and with the most beautiful view. There is no way I can describe the view in combination with a graveyard without it becoming macabre, but I hope you forgive this clumsiness and imagine what I want to say when seeing the panorama.
